Good morning ladies and gentlemen.
I am Kadek Ambara Sidi Mantri, from class A (D-IV Gizi). Standing
in front of you all, I would like to deliver my speech about Carbohydrate.
First of all, lets pray and thanks to Ida Sang Hyang
Widhi Wasa who has been giving us some blessing so we can attend in this place
in good condition and happy situation.
Health is very important for everyone. However, most
of us sometime forget
about our health. To protect our health, it is
important to maintain your diet by eating foods that contain lots of nutrients. The
most important nutrients for the body is carbohydrate. Carbohydrate is
a nutrient which has
main function as a producer of energy. Carbohydrates are
found in cereals (rice, wheat,
maize, potatoes and
so on), also in
the grains.
Carbohydrates consists of 2 types , there are simple carbohydrate and complex carbohydrate. Simple carbohydrates are
monosaccharide, disaccharide, sugar alcohols, and
oligosaccharides. For complex carbohydrates are
polysaccharides and fiber.
Carbohydrates is a main source of food for Indonesian people. However, eating
foods that contain deficiency carbohydrate and excess carbohydrates
are not good for health. Because
it can make
much variety of diseases. Disease
caused by the effects of excess
carbohydrates are diabetes
type 2, heart disease,
obesity, constipation, etc. While the disease is
caused by deficiency of carbohydrates are marasmus and
hypoglycemia.
The solution of
the problem of excess carbohydrates
is by avoid eating foods
that contain carbohydrates. Meanwhile, the
solution for deficiency carbohydrates is eat
more foods containing carbohydrates. Therefore, we must
keep our health and keeping our diet.
